Pen & Planet 📓 🌍

Self-initiated / Naming / Brand Story / Web Copy / Tone of Voice

Consumers are shopping more consciously, and Pen & Planet are on a mission to make sustainable change by making notebooks from recycled paper. As a self-initiated brief, I gave the brand a relatable voice that resonates with their customer.

Pen & Planet makes eco-friendly notebooks from recycled paper.

We started Pen & Planet with the philosophy that small changes can make a big impact over time. We believe that making conscientious choices about what we buy today is a good place to start for the future. So even when it comes to buying something seemingly small like a notebook, choosing a recycled one is a simple yet powerful way to help the planet.

Why choose recycled?

Every one of our notebooks is made from 100% recycled paper. Why bother? Well, worldwide, 4 billion trees are cut down every year for paper. But one ton of recycled paper can save 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, three cubic yards of landfill space, 4,000 kilowatts of energy, and 7000 gallons of water (EPA). The stats speak for themselves - if you want to look after this place we call home, choosing recycled is a tree-mendous place to start.

Sustainability is key

Sustainability is key in every part of our process - from our plastic-free packaging to eco-friendly printing ink. But it doesn’t stop there - we’re always seeking new ways to improve. And not only are our notebooks made from fully recycled paper, they’re fully recyclable too. This means that once you're finished with your notebook, you can recycle it at home and it will be used in other ingenious ways again and again. Super simple. Super sustainable.

Putting pen to paper

At our heart, we’re notebook people, for notebook people. It’s the possibilities of pen on paper, the potential of the pencil on a page. That’s why all our notebooks use 90gsm paper for a top-quality writing experience. So, whatever you use your notebook for - from penning your next poem to scribbling your next script - you’ll love writing in your notebook just as much as trees love carbon dioxide (they can't get enough of the stuff).

Notebooks that are better for your pen, and better for our planet.
